1:1 coaching to build skills for independent living
Our capacity building coaching helps NDIS participants aged 14 and over develop the practical skills they need to live more independently. Every session is one-to-one and built around clear, step-by-step goals, so you can see your progress.
Sessions run weekly or fortnightly, from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, at home or out in the community, wherever learning works best for you.

How coaching is different from a support worker
A support worker helps you get things done. We teach you how to do them yourself. We set measurable goals, practise skills in real situations, and review progress regularly, working alongside your family, support workers and allied health professionals so everyone is working towards the same goals.
Areas we coach
- Personal Care and Life Skills: hygiene and grooming routines, cooking and meal planning, and household tasks.
- Travel and Transport Training: using public transport, planning routes and travelling safely and confidently.
- Community Participation: finding and joining groups, activities and causes that match your interests.
- Social Skills Training: starting conversations, building friendships and managing social anxiety.
- Relationship Management: positive communication, resolving conflict and understanding social cues.
- Employment Support: discovering your interests, resumes, interview practice and getting work-ready.
- Confidence and Independence Building: decision-making, problem-solving and self-advocacy.
Funding
Coaching is usually funded from the Capacity Building budget in your NDIS plan, such as Improved Daily Living or Increased Social and Community Participation. We work with agency-managed, plan-managed and self-managed participants. If you’re not sure what your plan covers, contact us and we’ll check with you.
Already have a support coordinator?
That’s fine. We work with any support coordinator. If you also use our support coordination, you are always free to choose a different coaching provider. See our Conflict of Interest statement.
